2021 Annual Meeting and New Officer Election

After a pause due to Covid, the NC Division needs to move forward and hold our 2021 annual meeting to elect new officers. At present, the annual meeting will be held during the day on November 20, 2021 (the weekend of JO qualifiers in NC). Under our bylaws, a Nominating Committee is to present a slate of candidates to our members by October 6, 2021. At present, we do not have a Nominating Committee

At the current time, here are the positions that are open and the candidates running for each position:
Division Chair – open
Treasurer – Liz Morey running
Secretary – open
Vice Chair of Youth Development – open
Vice Chair of Coaching/Ref Development – open

There are also some appointed positions once we have a board in place as well that are also open – SafeSport Liaison (Sarah Kaufman) and Diversity (open) for example.

Nominations for these positions may be made to the Division Chair in writing 35 days prior to our meeting. As our Division Chair position is currently open, please send any nominations to our Secretary at sarah.kaufman@elliswinters.com. Nominations may also be made from the floor during the meeting/election.

In order to be eligible to vote at the annual meeting, you must be at least 18 years of age, be a member in good standing with USA Fencing, and either be a member of a club within NC-USA Fencing or have a permanent address in North Carolina. You cannot be a member of another USA Fencing division (South Carolina, for example).

Proxy votes are allowed and must be submitted to the Secretary (sarah.kaufman@elliswinters.com) at least 72 hours prior to November 20, 2021.
